Cultural Background- Native American

1. The Bead work is known for it's beauty and it's a source of mathematics.
2. A key concept that would be used in this lesson is four fold symmetry.
3.The type of symmetry this is based on is Four Fold Symmetry.
4.The four types of images have common with geometry are squares, concave, triangles, and symmetry.
5. The four images are Embroidery Plains Indian, Shoshone Beadwork, Pawnee Buffalo Hide Drum, and Navajo Rug.
6.Reflection symmetry is the same design on a type of symmetry where one half is the reflection of the other half some on bottom and top. Based on #2 is reflection between top and bottom.
7. Base counting that is in common and an example are native languages.
8.Symmetry #3 is commonly used for sand paintings for  healing ceremonies,
9.#4 is used for decoration.
10.It's shown coordinate systems such as a Beadloom.
11. The Native American  Beadwork was created when the European's came to North America and discovered the Native American's created it.
12. Designs were used in threads & teaching purposes.
